The science fiction film was 13 years in the making. The film puts Cameron again on the leading edge of technology in film making. If you’ve seen the movie, you know the Story, ex-Marine Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is sent to Pandora, a planet really far away from earth, filled with blue natives that have ears and a long tails. What ensues while Jake is on this planet is truly an epic. It’s a great film. Very entertaining. Good story telling. And the graphics are just amazing. It’s hard to tell what is real and what is not. They used a motion capture system to translate the actors emotions and performances into their digital counterparts. They used multiple cameras, cameras on the actor’s heads, and reference cameras. I can’t say enough about this film.  Avatar is awesome and it’s a must see. I don’t care if he didn’t win the Oscar, it’s still one of the best films I have ever seen, and now it’s on DVD.
