For those of you not getting tired of Jack Sparrow’s antics, the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie is in the works.
They’re heading to Hawaii for this installment in the series, which is making Hawaii happy, lets hope it makes the rest of us as excited. Scheduled to release in 2011, Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides is directed by Rob Marshall and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
Rob Marshall whose previous works include Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha and Nine, is going to be directing the new Pirates movie for sure; which will be a change from Gore Verbinski who directed the first three movies. As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t matter who is going to direct the movie the idea that they may make six of these movies is three too many. The first three movies were good but enough is enough. After awhile the character just isn’t interesting anymore. At what point do you stop a cash cow like Pirates of the Caribbean and set your sails for other, deeper waters? Which is what Johnny Depp may be thinking as he has yet to sign on officially to do the upcoming films. Which really if Johnny Depp is not in it who is going to watch it?
